Turning into the final quarter 16 points down with Croatia in command at 63-47 up, Great Britain hustled hard in defence and suddenly started to find their game in attack and had closed to within three points, at 71-68 down with 47 seconds, left before they were turned over and Croatia eventually closed the game out with seven seconds left with two three throws. Joel Freeland, who plays for Unicaja Malaga in the Spanish League was again Great Britain's top scorer with 22 to place alongside the 16 he scored against France on Tuesday night.

Andrew Lawrence and Dan Clark both hit double figures with ten apiece and Mike Lenzly added eight.
Great Britain will face Serbia on Thursday with the world ranked number four team, who slipped to defeat against Croatia on the opening day, dismissing China 87-53. In the day's other game Tony Parker was again in sparkling form for France contributing 27 points, including three free throws right at the death in their nail-biting 71-67 win over Australia.
