NBBF plans big for 2012 London Olympics

THE Nigeria Basketball Federation(NBBF) has expressed hope and aspiration that will enable the basketball male national team, D Tigers be at the London 2012 Olympics.

Speaking with the Tribunesports in Lagos on Saturday the NBBF president, Dr Tijani Umar having expressed sadness over the country's basketall male team's abscence at the previous games said the federation is puting so much efforts in place to see the jinx broken.

According to him,the federation is poised to present a formidable team that will be at the Africa Mens Basketball Championship in Madagascar later in the year which will serve as qualifier for the Olympics.

Also,he informed that the federation has lined up series of international top rated friendlies for the team that will put them in good shape for the Madagascar championship.

''It is so sad that our male team have not been at the Olympics in the past and the board is concern about this and we are determined to see that we are at the London 2012 Olympics'',he said.

He further informed,''we have series of friendlies line up for our team to prepare them for the task ahead and the technical crew are well equipped for the task."
