Usain Bolt To Try Something New After 2012 Olympics – He may be the fastest man in the world, but that does not mean that Usain Bolt is happy running for the rest of his life. He recently said that he feels that his fans will get bored with him if he wins the 100 and 200 meter races in 2012. Bolt went on to say that he would like to try to compete in new events after the 2012 Olympics.

“I’m not going to be one of those athletes who go on to do track and field until they’re 36,” Bolt said. “If I win then I probably have to try something else because people are probably tired of seeing me.” It would be interesting to see what other events Bolt is currently considering. He had a six-week injury layoff recently, but is reportedly back on the track and training. For now, he will continue to run the 100 instead of the 200 in hopes that he will not re-aggravate the Achilles injury that has sidelined him for the last months.
Bolt shattered the 100 meter record at the 2008 Olympics. During the race, he got off to the slowest start of all of the competitors, and still managed to finish a full step and a half in front of them. Almost as soon as he broke the record, Bolt was accused of having used performance enhancing drugs. Those claims were vehemently denied by representatives for Bolt, and representatives for Jamaica. He is considered to be the fastest man in the World, and is almost a shoe-in for victory at the 2012 games – barring injury.
