How To Get Tickets To The London 2012 Olympics

Even though Vancouver is still hanging on to the 2010 Winter Olympics, its not too early to start planning for the next Olympics in London 2012. It's not only time to start looking for hotel deals, but it's also time to start planning which events you want to attend and be ready to get tickets as soon as they go on sale.

There will be 7.7 million tickets available for the Olympic Games, with another 1.5m for the Paralympics. Tickets for both events will go on sale from 2011 and will remain on sale until the start of every event, if they don't sell out sooner. Each ticket will include free travel on public transport in London for the day of the event. London2012.com has a list of all the events, dates, times and venues so you can start planning. You can also register now to receive newsletters from London 2012 and stay on top of any ticketing updates.

Some events will be free and no ticket will be necessary. Road Cycling, Triathlon, and the Marathon will all take place on the streets of London with plenty of room along the routes for cheering spectators.

Most importantly, don't be fooled by ticket scams. Some websites are claiming to already have tickets and are offering them for sale, but don't fall for it. Tickets are not on sale yet and will only be available through official London 2012 sales channels. Of course we'll let you know as soon as that happens!
